Further experiments on metroid larvae have been suspended, due to a high casulty rate of our pirate subjects. Experiments on the metroid's growth and development have been executed in an attempt to bypass the metroid's weaker alpha stage to the stronger gamma metroids. However the experiments have resulted in mutations in metroid specimens. these mutations have caused the metroid specimens to highly aggressive and have also increased their speed, by a large margin. A large amount of our troops were terminated by metroid specimens before they were able to contain them. It would seem that metroid specimens, although stronger and faster than traditional metroids, retain their vulnerability to colder temperatures. these metroids are far to aggressive for use as a bioweapon because the risk is too high they will turn on us. Reports have suggested the arrival of the hunter several cycles ago. We'll leave the metroids to deal with her, perhaps they can kill eachother and rid us both problems.

Scans show a hightened aggression and increased speed within metroid specimens. Metroids alsoTheta Metroids use a pair of spikes to ram into their enemies, while they also resort to traditional metroid behaviour by latching onto prey to drain their foe's life energy. Multiple bombs are needed if the metroid latches on. Larger and sharper claws are also used for slashing at their enemies. When they attempt to ram use evasive maneuvers, then target their vulnerable underside with the ice beam. Timing is crucial as they are much faster than most other metroids.
